Having A Whale of a Time!

Did you know that whales weigh 1 and 1/2 tons per foot? According to Life Nature Library THE SEA by Leonard Engel and The Editors of LIFE, British scientists weighed a whale a piece at a time. I guess there isn't any way to weigh a whole whale at one time. I've always thought of whales as easy going and friendly. They seem to just float around and be generally content with life, but that's just the way I see it from where I'm standing. This piece I did using a lovely record slip-cover I found at Goodwill (favorite shopping place ever!) I've always loved the look of woodcuts and so that's what I was going for here. A little painstaking but definitely worth it!

This whale piece I did using a felt-tipped pen

Another t-shirt design!!! I had a lot of fun with this one, and I love making presants for my nephew. After having finished my red whale I thought I'd try it on for size and what better person to try it out than my nephew, who spent some time at his aunts' house.

It was a Happy day!
